Congratulations on 500.... Does not surprise me! I learned much from all the historical data of the fortune cookie... Very interesting.... Never really cared for their taste or their well wishes...but must admit I always "glanced" at their secret revelations.... However.... I find myself at this moment... laughing out loud at the Steven Wright comment.... He is my all time favorite stand up..... His comment made my day.... It brought me joy and laughter.....and I didn't even need a cookie..

As to your "downer" fortune, I will tell you that I edited out almost as much fortune cookie content as I included in this piece. (I think most of my readers are looking for short and sweet -- otherwise, they just can't "find the time.") I have enough to fill up another entire post, so maybe I'll write a follow-up someday soon. Suffice to say, your quirky message could have origins in several different influences that actually aren't as weird as that message might seem. Lol! Thanks for the comment, Stew - as always.
