You live in a magic world, E. And your writing captures it with an equal magic. Thanks for this. “Utterly butterfly” is my favorite phrase in this essay. So perfect. See? You have the ear of a poet!
Prue, thank you. I do feel fortunate to bear witness to these events, when they happen. Some time ago, I made a promise to not bring caterpillars inside in the fall, learning the hard way that at a certain point, they instinctively know to wait until spring to emerge. This was an unplanned gift. As for emerging as butterflies, I can only hope that whatever transformation I'm going through ends in something half that spectacular. 🦋
"...after being liquified." Isn't that the real kicker, Susan? Most of us would be terrified of such an outcome, if we knew it was happening. So, maybe, like the butterfly, we're on the path without really understanding the fate that is to come. Here's hoping we emerge in such a beautiful, new form some day.
"But, if they do, I hope they believe in our ability to change. And, I hope they’re right" ~ I am just going to hold on to this phrase all day. Thank you, E.
Thank you, Lorraine. I just spent a few minutes exploring your website and soulwork video. Such powerful, heart-centered work you are doing! I'm grateful to know you are 'out there' in our world.
Oh, thank you so very much!! I've been on pause big-time since the pandemic hit, easing very slowly back into it, with some great support from excellent marketing & branding experts... so stay tuned, I will slowly but surely put myself out here (at some point 🙂).
What a lovely happening. I've never seen them emerge from their cocoons. Very special!
Unlike me, it never gets old. :) Maybe the change-for-good message lands especially noticeably for you today. Thinking of you.
"so utterly butterfly".
😌
I wonder if the Earth is camouflaged in the cosmos? Thank you for the beautiful story and photos!
That double entendre was fun, wasn't it? And the thought of a hidden earth even more so. Love that!
Breathtakingly beautiful, Elizabeth - thank you so much for such a stunning post. 🦋
A pleasure to have had the experience to draw from. Glad you enjoyed it, Rebecca.
This is lovely. Thank you for the pictures.
Worth so many words, right? Thanks, June.
I cheered for these butterflies, too, thank you for sharing them in this beautiful way!
It's like reading a new version of the book of Genesis and God created.....
Oh, well now that's a perspective I'd not considered. I'm humbled that you think so, Barry.
So cool! Great pictures!
Thank you, Erica. Coming from someone who works wonders with a camera lens, I take that as quite a compliment.
Thanks for the pictures and story. Lovely stuff.
They are such beautiful models, in all senses of the word! 🙂

I just think you were so privileged, so lucky to be able to watch this amazing transformation. What a BEAUTIFUL butterfly!
And isn't it all such a metaphor for life?
Don't we all want to emerge as butterflies?
Loved this post, Elizabeth. Thank you.

I love giant chocolate cookie pieces as a social communion! Also, utterly, butterly, butterfly flight in nonlinear, whimsical ballet!
Thanks for reminding me of the beauty of transformation after being liquified!

I hope you did, Roe. I'm always delighted to know you're nurturing these thoughts in your own way.
This will always be my favorite...as are you ❤️🐛🦋
I *love* that you were able to share this experience with us. I mean, giant cookies and butterflies...how could we go wrong?! Thanks, Bonnie.
This is beautifully captured and shared, Elizabeth. What a beautiful butterfly (and a second) you so gently nurtured and safeguarded.
Beautiful. The butterflies AND your writing. 🙂
