Lol. Yup, *I* cook okra, exactly as you say (Eric doesn't cook) and I love it, grow it when I decide to have space for it. Spouse/partners aren't always on the same page. 🙃 I love growing, cooking all kinds of things - that (and music) are such rewarding ways of exploration for me. Even better when exerienced from those steeped in those traditions. In his recent health needs to minimize acid and fat, I've been trying other okra preps - work for me, not him. I wonder, though, if some find their fun in chain-yanking vilification - understanding is not their point. It makes me sad, but better okra as target than personal attributes, I guess.
